On creativity, becoming, and refusing to fit inside a single box.
I’ve never been very good at being just one thing.
I’m an artist. A writer. A mother. A dreamer. A spiritual person who finds magic in the mundane. A woman with a thousand ideas, half-finished projects, and a mind that rarely seems interested in doing just one thing at a time.
I make art. I write books. I think about the universe. I build businesses in my head before I’ve figured out how to make them work in the real world. I get curious about things, pull them apart, question them, and sometimes change my mind entirely.
I can spend the morning thinking about spirituality, the afternoon making art, and the evening down a rabbit hole about artificial intelligence, creativity, and what it means to make something that is truly your own.
And somewhere in the middle of all that, I’m supposed to figure out how to make a living.
For a long time, I’ve felt the pressure to narrow it all down. Pick a niche. Find your thing. Build a personal brand. Show up consistently. Tell your story. Make content. Become recognizable for one particular version of yourself.
But what if the thing that makes us interesting is that we’re not just one thing?
What if all these seemingly disconnected pieces are actually part of the same story?
The messy middle is where I live.
I’m building something called Flame & Root Alchemy. It holds my art, my writing, my creative work, and my desire to make a living doing something that feels meaningful.
I’ve created books, developed ideas for classes, made things with my hands, and dreamed up more projects than I could reasonably complete in a lifetime. I’m learning how to turn all of that into a business without losing the very thing that made me want to create in the first place.
Some days, I feel like I’m finally putting the pieces together. Other days, I wonder whether I’m making things unnecessarily difficult by wanting a life that doesn’t fit a conventional mold.
I’m interested in the beautiful parts of creating, but I’m interested in the uncomfortable parts, too.
The fear of being seen. The vulnerability of sharing your work. The frustration of having ideas that outnumber your resources. The tension between making art for the joy of it and needing that art to pay the bills.
The question of whether something is still yours when technology becomes part of the process.
The strange experience of being a person who wants to be known for her work but doesn’t necessarily want to perform her entire life on the internet to make that happen.
These are the things I want to write about.
Not because I have everything figured out, but because I’m living the questions.
A little magic, a little mess, and a lot of curiosity.
I believe there’s magic in ordinary things. In the way a piece of art comes together. In the conversations that change how we see something. In the small moments when we recognize ourselves again after spending too long being who everyone else needs us to be.
I’m interested in creativity as more than a product. I’m interested in it as a way of being alive.
I’m interested in spirituality without needing every experience to come with a tidy explanation. I’m interested in art, technology, identity, business, and the ways we try to make meaningful lives in a world that constantly asks us to be more productive, more visible, and more easily understood.
And I’m interested in what happens when we give ourselves permission to explore without immediately needing to turn every interest into a niche, every thought into a lesson, or every creative impulse into something we can sell.
Sometimes an idea is just an idea.
Sometimes making something is enough.
And sometimes an idea keeps tugging at you until you realize it’s asking you to build an entirely new part of your life.
I want room for all of that here.
So, welcome.
I created this space because I want somewhere to put the thoughts that don’t fit neatly anywhere else.
I’ll write about what I’m making, what I’m learning, what I’m questioning, and what I’m trying to build. I’ll share the ideas that won’t leave me alone, the creative experiments that surprise me, the things I get wrong, and the moments that remind me why any of this matters.
Some weeks, we might talk about art and artificial intelligence. Other weeks, we might wander into spirituality, creative identity, the realities of building a business, or the complicated business of becoming someone new.
I don’t want to pretend these subjects exist in separate compartments. They’re all part of the same life. Mine.
And maybe yours, too.
You don’t need to have a five-year plan to be building something meaningful. You don’t need to know exactly who you’re becoming before you begin. You don’t have to choose one interest, one identity, or one way of making a living just because the world finds it easier to understand.
You can be a work in progress and still have something worth sharing.
You can be figuring it out and still make beautiful things.
You can change your mind.
You can begin again.
This is Flame & Root Alchemy: a place for the art, the ideas, the questions, the magic, and all the messy bits in between.
I’m glad you’re here.
Let’s see what we make of it.
